2025: Amsterdam is growing again?!
The first half of 2025 shows growth in Amsterdam's population that is roughly equal to the growth seen throughout 2024. The third quarter saw enormous growth in foreign establishments.

A negative net migration in 2024 meant that
Amsterdam's population grew virtually unchanged.
Preliminary figures for the first half of 2025 show that
the population grew roughly the same as in the entire
previous year. The figures indicate that this is mainly
due to the enormous increase in immigration from
abroad. This trend continues in the third quarter; there
are already more international arrivals than in all of
2024. Domestic departures are increasing, while
international departures are decreasing. Based on
these preliminary figures, Amsterdam's population
will grow significantly again in 2025.
